World Book Day is on 5th March, and we're celebrating the joy of reading with special activities across our digital platforms.
Reading builds vocabulary, helps young children understand their emotions, and creates moments of connection between you and your Bingster. When reading feels fun, children naturally want to return to it.
This World Book Day, we've created resources to help you explore reading together.
New Dress Up Game on the Bing App
Our Bing: Watch, Play, Learn app has a brand new dress-up game where children can dress Bing and friends in their favourite outfits. It's the perfect way to celebrate dressing up as book characters. Download the app to play.
World Book Day Playlist and Compilation on YouTube
We've created a special playlist and compilation featuring Bing episodes about stories, reading and imagination. Visit our YouTube channel to watch together.
Social Media Activities and Giveaway
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok throughout the week for reading tips, activities and a special giveaway in collaboration with our partners Rubies, HarperCollins and Rainbow Designs.
This year, the government and National Literacy Trust have launched the National Year of Reading to encourage families across the UK to read more together. We're supporting this important initiative throughout 2026 with new audio stories, nursery rhymes, games and resources designed to make reading accessible and enjoyable for families with young children.
