Move a Mile for NSPCC Childhood Day on 6 June

Acamar Films, the award-winning producer and distributor of the beloved preschool animation Bing, is delighted to continue its collaboration with the NSPCC for a fourth consecutive year in support of Childhood Day.

Childhood Day is the NSPCC’s annual fundraising event dedicated to protecting children and working towards helping every child have the safe, happy childhood they deserve. On 6 June 2025, nurseries and schools across the UK and Channel Islands will come together to take part in fun activities while raising vital funds for the NSPCC’s work.

This year, Bing is once again joining the Childhood Day Mile challenge, inspiring nurseries, young children, and their families to move a mile in any way they choose—whether running, skipping, hopping, or dancing—to support the charity’s essential mission. The 2025 theme, ‘Play Your Part’, encourages everyone to get involved, and Bing is helping even the smallest participants complete their mile through fun relay-style activities.

Katie Fudge, Schools Fundraising Development Manager at the NSPCC says: "We’re delighted to have Bing back on board for Childhood Day. Bing is a fantastic champion of early childhood development, and we know that little ones love moving and playing along with their favourite character.”

To support nurseries and early years practitioners taking part, special Bing-themed resources, including activity sheets, posters, and sticker packs, will be provided. Ahead of Childhood Day, registered nurseries were given the exciting chance to win a visit from beloved characters Bing and Flop. On 14th May, the NSPCC announced Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery in Dagenham as the winner which means on 6th June children at the nursery will be joined by Bing and Flop to take part in the fun and complete their mile on Childhood Day.

The NSPCC’s Childhood Day campaign is encouraging the general public to take part in fundraising activities across the UK and Channel Islands.  As well as activities throughout shopping centres, workplaces and community centres, the charity is also inviting over 40,000 schools and 9,000 nurseries/early years practitioners to get involved. The nationwide promotional drive includes email outreach, social media and regional press coverage.

"At Acamar Films, we are passionate about celebrating the experiences that shape early childhood.” says Laura Clarke, Executive Director, Global Licensing at Acamar Films”Childhood Day is a wonderful way to bring communities together while making a meaningful impact on children’s lives across the UK.”
